Release management

fabric — OMS, PIM, Offers & Integrations release trains

99%on-time release rate
87%+on-time feature delivery
4distributed teams on one release plan

The problem

fabric’s commerce platform shipped as products — OMS, PIM, Offers, and Integrations — each built by a separate distributed engineering team. Their monthly rollouts overlapped, and hotfix escalations landed in between. Without a single owner of the release calendar, a slip in one team could put another team’s rollout, and enterprise clients’ SLAs, at risk.

The approach

Owned the release roadmap across teams and synchronized their release schedules into one monthly plan, so simultaneous rollouts and hotfix escalations were sequenced rather than colliding. Enforced deployment governance and zero-regression rollouts to protect platform uptime, and kept milestones and risk visible to engineering, product, and client stakeholders through reviews and weekly business reviews.

The impact

Production releases held a 99% on-time rate and feature delivery an 87%+ on-time rate across teams, with zero-regression rollouts protecting uptime for enterprise clients.
